Categories we do not take at all
No exceptions on these, regardless of condition or brand.
-
Televisions
Any size. Monitors yes, TVs no.
-
Games consoles
PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo.
-
Tablets and smartphones
-
Apple products
Including MacBooks, iMacs and Mac minis.
-

-

-
Networking equipment
Routers, switches, access points.
-
Loose power supplies
A PSU inside a complete system is fine; on its own it is not something we buy.
Condition problems that stop a sale
The category is fine; the specific item is not.
-
Locked devices
iCloud, BIOS or MDM enrolled. A locked machine cannot be resold, so it is a hard pass.
-
Water damage
-
Cracked laptop screens
The repair usually costs more than the machine returns.
-
Drives that fail a health check
We will not resell a failing drive, so we do not buy one.
Bring it anyway — recycling is free
If something on this page is sitting in your closet, it still does not have to come home with you. We recycle old computer gear free at the same location, whether or not we bought anything from you.
Details of the recycling service are on our parent company’s site: Alamo Geeks Computer Recycling Center. Same building, same people.
Monitors are a special case
We do buy monitors — but not with an instant online quote. Panel condition decides almost the entire value of a display and it cannot be assessed from a model number alone, so an automated figure would be a guess we would have to walk back once you arrived. Describe it and add a photo instead, and we email you a quote.

Monitors: quote by email
Usually within 1–2 hours during business hours, and never more than one business day. Get a monitor quote
Common questions
Why not just buy everything and sort it out later?
Because taking something we cannot resell means paying you for our own disposal cost, and we would have to make that back somewhere else — usually by paying less for the things we do want. A short no list keeps the yes list honest.
You do not buy Apple. Where should I take my MacBook?
We genuinely do not have a recommendation to give you, and inventing one would not help. Apple products are simply outside what we handle.
My PC has a part on this list inside it. Is the whole thing refused?
No. A power supply inside a complete system is fine — it is only loose PSUs we will not take. Bring the whole machine and we will price what is worth pricing.
