What your graphics card is actually worth

A graphics card is usually the most valuable thing in an old PC, and the easiest thing to get lowballed on. Find yours below, see how much we pay right now, and get paid in cash the same day.

Why not just list it

Cash today beats maybe-money in three weeks.

A patient private sale can pay more; it also takes weeks, and it rarely goes to plan — lowball messages, no-shows, a stranger in a parking lot. Here you see how much we pay before you leave the house, and the cash is in your hand the day you walk in. Off your floor, into your pocket.

How we price it

What moves the price, and by how much.

Our pricing is a percentage of what the item is currently selling for used, and we update those figures weekly. Beyond that, these are the things we actually look at.

  1. 01

    Generation

The single biggest factor. A current-generation midrange card usually beats a flagship from two generations back.

  2. 02

    VRAM

Memory capacity has pulled ahead of raw speed in what buyers ask for. A 16GB card holds value better than an 8GB card of similar speed.

  3. 03

    Cooler condition

Fans are the most common fault we find. A card that passes diagnostics but has a failing fan is still worth buying. The quote just carries the cost of the replacement.

  4. 04

    Thermal history

Heavy sustained load leaves traces. We check temperatures under load rather than guessing from appearance.

  5. 05

    Completeness

The original box is not required and does not raise the price. An unusual power adapter or bracket, if the card shipped with one, does matter.

We don’t open low and negotiate up. The quote you’re given is the price. More on how we price →

No surprises

Three steps. One trip. Paid.

  1. Get your quote before you drive. Find your item on this site and see how much we pay, in real time. Accept it and it’s emailed to you, so you arrive with the quote already in writing.
  2. Bring it in, no appointment. We log the model, condition and serial number in front of you (photo ID, 18 or over), then check it on the workshop bench — about ten to fifteen minutes per item. Your quote stands unless the item isn’t as described or part of it fails; then we show you what we found, offer a parts price, and you decide.
  3. Walk out paid. Cash or a company check, same day, before you leave. Say no at any point and take it home — no fee, no hard feelings.

We record the serial number and the seller’s ID on every purchase, and hand the bill of sale to law enforcement if they ask. That’s why we need your ID, and why stolen hardware doesn’t come through this door.

Not sure exactly what you have?

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, open the Performance tab, and click GPU — the model is in the top-right corner. No machine to check? The model is printed along the edge of the card itself.

Still stuck? Call or text (210) 710-2020 and describe it, or bring the whole machine and we'll identify it for you.

Common questions

Before you drive over.

Do you buy graphics cards that were used for mining?

Yes. Mining is not automatically disqualifying — a card run at a steady undervolted load can be in better shape than one that spent three years in a hot gaming case. We judge the card in front of us, on the bench, not its history.

My card artifacts or crashes under load. Is it worth anything?

Often, yes. Faulty cards still have value for parts, and a fault is sometimes just thermal paste or a fan. Bring it in — we will tell you honestly whether it is worth more to you repaired than sold.

Is a graphics card worth more sold separately or inside the PC?

Separately, almost always. If you bring the whole machine we price it both ways and show you both quotes, so you can decide.

Get your quote, then bring it in.
